Kazan State Medical University is one of the oldest universities of Russia after Moscow and St.Petersburg. The university was established under Kazan Emperor University which was later on renamed as Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) in the year 1930 in Kazan, Russia. It is a government-funded university that is recognized by the Ministry of Healthcare and Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

About Hostel
KMU has 6 hostels for students who are within the walking distance of the university. The hostels have different types of rooms that differ in size. They are spacious that 2-3 students can share it comfortably. The rooms are featured with all basic facilities such as internet access, health centre, canteen for quality food, television, and telephone for students. The hostels are kept under the protection of the police department that ensures 24 hours security.
Co-curricular Activities: KSMU offers a perfect blend of study with other sports and cultural activities. The university conducts athletic programs for students to keep their balance between study and other activities like Medic. The medic is a relaxation camp which is situated in the forest on the banks of the Volga River. Students can also participate in year-round recreation including football, tennis, basketball, swimming in summer, and skating in winter.
